Dr. Blake Penner was born and raised in Medicine Hat, AB. He attended the University of Lethbridge where he studied kinesiology. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota.
Dr. Penner grew up playing multiple different sports but later focused his efforts in hockey, playing for the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League. Different sports related injuries over the years is how he came to realize the benefits of Chiropractic care. These experiences have helped him transition into clinical practice helping people perform at their best in sport and life.
His love for sports is what attracted him to pursue his eduction towards a Doctor of Chiropractic with a Sports & Rehabilitation Emphasis. He is FAKTR (Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab) certified and has completed multiple other courses including taping, concussion baseline testing, advanced therapeutic exercises, IASTM and others. Besides sports injuries and back pain, Dr. Penner also treats a wide variety of other musculoskeletal complaints such as headaches, TMJ, shoulder, knee, and ankle conditions, etc. He uses a range of different modalities, soft tissue techniques and rehab exercises to best suit each individuals needs.
In his spare time, Dr. Penner enjoys golfing, hiking, snowboarding, and many other outdoor activities that the Okanagan has to offer. He knows how important it is to live an active lifestyle and is dedicated to keeping you moving and feeling your best.
