ICBC and Car Accident FAQs
Are you or someone you know suffering from pain, stiffness, or headaches after a car accident? You’ve come to the right place. Below, we’ve put together common questions about how you can receive care to make the process as simple as possible while you get back on your feet.
Will ICBC cover my treatments?
Absolutely. At Okanagan Integrative Health, your approved chiropractic treatments are covered 100% by your insurance no matter who was at fault. We currently provide direct billing for ICBC chiropractic appointments to take care of the entire reimbursement process for you. Massage therapy at our clinic is covered in full for your first massage therapy session and 45 minute follow up massages. For a follow up 60 minute massage, the out of pocket cost is $25.75.
Do I need a referral to receive treatment?
No. To see a chiropractor or RMT you do not need a referral from a primary care physician or approval from an insurance adjuster as long treatment is within 3 months of the accident. Once you have submitted a claim to ICBC, schedule an ICBC Intial Assessment & Treatment to get started with treatment. You can schedule this appointment yourself online here, or you can call to schedule.
How much treatment can I receive?
Coverage for a motor vehicle collision covers a period of 90 days from the date of your accident, 25 chiropractic treatments, 12 kinesiology treatments, and 12 massage therapy treatments to reach pre-accident status or full medical recovery. In certain instances you can receive more care if it is clinically indicated and your insurance provider allows more treatment.
